OFW Begging For Help From Abusive Emplyer Goes Viral

A 53-second video of a crying Overseas Filipino Worker (OFW) while showing her bruises went viral since it was re-uploaded last February 7 by Facebook page ViralNow.

            The woman, who is said to come from Cebu, asks  help as she rolls up her sleeves to reveal her skin contusions and re-enacts how her empoloyer abusively pulls her hair.

            Another voice of a woman can be heard in the background, she was also the one filming the whole video.

            The record has gained thousands of sympathy from random people online tagging media accounts and the government to help her.

             The  country where the OFW is working is still unclear.

As of February 21, the video has more than 500,000 views and 17,000 shares on Facebook.

            The Bold Beat has tried contacting the Overseas Workers Welfare Administration (OWWA) and they said that they’ll try to find more information about the said OFW.

            The Facebook page ViralNow has yet to reply on our messages regarding the original source of the video.
